The atlas is a pedagogical tool that brings a set of information about the assets included in the indicative list of Cape Verde – Unesco, said the technician of the Institute of Cultural Heritage
(IPC) and coordinator of the project, Ivalena Rosário.
When presenting the atlas of the indicative list, Ivalena Rosário pointed out as an instrument of didactic-pedagogical knowledge that brings together a set of information about the goods appearing in the indicative list, such as the Historical-geographical description, and the cultural and natural values, highlighting their potential as essential components of the national heritage legacy.
The purpose of drawing up the atlas is to arouse interest in safeguarding the assets on the list, encourage the inclusion of assets in national tourist itineraries, and make available to the public, especially students and researchers, an information base on the assets on the Cape Verde indicative list.
From the list of the goods updated in 2016, in a total of eight, two properties of the island of Fogo, namely, the Historic Center of São Filipe city and the Natural Park of Fogo (PNF) and atlas brings the historical and patrimonial values which led to the inclusion of these two goods in the indicative list.
