Fifteen Young Individuals Gain Culinary Skills in Yatenga Training Program


Yatenga: Around fifteen young people have successfully completed a training program in pastry making and cooking, held from September 11 to 14 at the Ouahigouya Youth Listening and Dialogue Center. The initiative aimed to equip young culinary enthusiasts with essential skills to foster entrepreneurship in the agri-food sector.



According to Burkina Information Agency, this training session was the brainchild of agri-food graduates who sought to enhance the culinary arts, specifically in pastry and cooking. Harouna Sana, the session’s trainer, emphasized the importance of sharing their expertise with individuals eager to specialize or advance in these fields. Responding to the demand, the trainers provided support in mastering various techniques essential for success in the culinary world.



During the program, participants acquired skills in preparing, assembling, and presenting diverse birthday cakes. In the cooking segment, they learned effective practices for kneading pastel dough, rolling spring rolls, and composing ingredients for a successful potato gratin.



Co-trainer Khalid Ouedraogo expressed appreciation for the participants’ eagerness to enhance their skills within the short training period, preparing them for the job market. He encouraged young individuals to invest in this promising field, emphasizing professionalism and good hygiene practices.



Zoeratou Ouedraogo, representing the participants, expressed gratitude on behalf of the group to the trainers for their expertise and ability to convey fundamental skills in pastry and cooking. She encouraged others interested in the field to pursue similar training opportunities.
