The Cameroon Football Federation has released a communique explaining what transpired at the FA headquarters on Friday, August 30, leading to the disruption of the press conference that had to hold. The Indomitable Lions head coach was expected to unveil the list of players selected for the AFCON qualification matches against Namibia and Zimbabwe on September 7 and 10 respectively. FECAFOOT said Marc Brys arrived at the head office 'unexpectedly'. According to the federation the coach had been invited to hold the press conference as is required, but he did not respond. 'Without either acknowledging receipt of the said letter or confirming his presence, in order to enable the federation to organise this conference, inform its partners, and invite the media, Mr Marc Brys unexpectedly arrived at FECAFOOT at around 10:30 am' the FECAFOOT statement said. An agreement was reached with the SG of the federation and an appointment was made for 12:30 pm. The federation said he surprisingly sent an email at 11:00 a m saying he would not be available due to illness. 'He later on showed up at 2:00 pm claiming to be well and offering to make a two-minute statement. However, the invited press had backed out' FECAFOOT explained. The football governing body has proceeded to release the list of 24 players selected for the upcoming matches. Source: Cameroon News Agency
