Tenkodogo: Lieutenant Abdoul Fatah Sawadogo, commander of the Faso Mebo brigade in the Nakambe region, presented on Tuesday the results of the contributions received, the work carried out, and the future needs, to partners and members of the community. Civic engagement and solidarity around the beautification of the city were highlighted.
According to Burkina Information Agency, since the launch of the Faso Mebo presidential initiative in the Nakambe region on June 8, 2025, the generosity of citizens and partners has made it possible to mobilize essential resources for the production of paving stones and urban development. To date, registered contributions include 204 tons of cement, 98 bags of sekalite, 2,150 molds, as well as shovels, rakes, brooms, picks, wheelbarrows, trowels, gloves, and light vests. The availability of a truck and a mini-compactor has helped accelerate the paving work.
The work carried out includes the creation of 132,918 paving stones and the paving of 4,600 m², covering the areas surrounding the RN16, from the old Bitou station to the public works department, as well as the Place de la Nation. Approximately 6,000 m² have already been leveled in preparation for future paving work. The next steps include paving along the livestock wall, beautifying the Place de la Nation, developing the streets and access roads, as well as creating rest and study areas around the multipurpose room.
Lieutenant Sawadogo recalled that these contributions, whether financial, material, or in terms of manpower, reflect the collective will to build for the future. He stressed the continuity of the project and the need to strengthen the supply of crushed granite, sand, cement, sekalite, and dyes, as well as engine oil, gasoline, and diesel, while requesting support in compactors and labor.
Lieutenant Abdoul Fatah Sawadogo also thanked all those involved in the initiative, describing Faso Mebo as a true testament to solidarity and love for the community. He urged the population to continue to participate actively, particularly during community weekends, in order to perpetuate the achievements and ensure the lasting success of the presidential initiative.
