Escritaria Literary Festival honors Cabo Verdean writer Germano Almeida

The Cabo Verdean writer Germano Almeida is the honoree of the 14th edition of the Escritaria Literary Festival, in Penafiel, Portugal, an event in which also participates the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abraão Vicente.

The author, a native of Boa Vista, resident in Mindelo and who was Awarded Camões in 2008, will be honored at the event that kicked off this Sunday, the 24th and extends until the 31st, and will also present his newest novel, “A Confissão e a Culpa”, the last volume of his Mindelo Trilogy.

“Germano Almeida, one of the most prominent writers in Portuguese, will have silhouette and phrase in Penafiel for future memory, along with the previous honorees”, pointed out the organization of the event produced by the City Hall of Penafiel, District of Porto, Portugal.

This year’s edition of the festival will also include the participation of Minister Abraão Vicente, who, associating himself with the tribute to Germano Almeida, participates, on the 29th, in the conference “The role of Lusophony – To talk with Germano Almeida and Abraão Vicente”.
