Dr. Lende Tougri Takes Charge as New Regional Director of Health and Public Hygiene in Nakambe


Nakambe: The Governor of the Nakambe region, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, chaired a handover ceremony in Tenkodogo, marking the transition between the outgoing Regional Director of Health, Dr. Issa Guire, and the newly appointed Dr. Lende Tougri. The ceremony focused on continuity and strengthening achievements in the regional health sector.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Dr. Tougri extended his gratitude to health personnel, administrative and religious authorities, defense forces, and technical partners for their support. He acknowledged the collective commitment and resilience of all stakeholders and dedicated his appointment as Coordinator of the National Tuberculosis Control Program to his collaborators. Dr. Tougri, a specialist in public health, pledged to work diligently to consolidate achievements, tackle challenges, and reinvigorate the regional health system.



Dr. Guire, the outgoing director, expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in him during his tenure, highlighting his focus on strengthening the health system, combating epidemics, aiding internally displaced persons, and promoting community health. He also organized three editions of the “Community Health Night.”



Colonel Lamizana congratulated Dr. Tougri on his new role and encouraged him to continue the efforts of his predecessor. He stressed the importance of collaborative management with health districts, the Regional Hospital Center, decentralized services, and community stakeholders to improve access to quality care.



The ceremony, attended by various bodies, partners, NGOs, and community associations, underscored the commitment of health authorities to ensure the continuity of public service and enhance care amidst security and humanitarian challenges.
