Gnagna: The Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Gnagna, Mr. Sylvain Thiombiano, praised the ‘brilliant results’ obtained by the province during the past school year, while calling on educational stakeholders to seriously prepare for the 2025-2026 administrative year, scheduled to start this Monday, September 15.
According to Burkina Information Agency, in a message addressed to the Heads of Basic Education Districts (CCEB), educational supervisors as well as school principals, Mr. Thiombiano expressed his satisfaction with the results of the Primary School Certificate (CEP) and entry into sixth grade.
“The DPEPPNF-Gnagna obtained 93.64% in the CEP, ranking second at the regional level, and 100% at the entry into sixth grade, general education option,” he recalled, before announcing the organization of a Provincial Excellence Day on October 30, 2025.
However, the Provincial Director stressed that these 2025 results require greater rigor to maintain or even improve them. “Tomorrow is being prepared today,” he insisted, calling on all stakeholders to return to work as soon as the administrative year begins.
According to official guidelines, this return to school, which runs from September 15 to 30, should be marked by the holding of teachers’ councils, the distribution of teaching materials and the completion of pedagogical preparations, with a view to the actual start of classes on October 1.
Mr. Thiombiano also drew the attention of the CCEBs to the implementation of a new reform concerning school councils, the implementation of which must begin this fall.
In conclusion, the Provincial Director expressed the wish for a peaceful school year, “free from any terrorist acts”, and wished a good administrative return to all those involved in the Gnagna education system.
