By Charity Nginyu On the night of Sunday, April 28, 2024, tragedy struck in Douala, Cameroon's economic capital, as a heavy-duty truck crushed a taxi having on board three passengers. The incident occurred in the Bonaberi neighborhood in the city's 4th Municipality. According to eyewitness accounts, the calamity unfolded in the late hours of Sunday, when a heavy-duty truck, reportedly having lost control due to brake failure, collided head-on with a taxi in Bonaberi. The impact of the collision was so severe that the force of the truck completely crushed the taxi. Immediately after the tragic incident, passersby rushed to the scene to assess the situation and provide assistance to the victims. Tragically, it has been confirmed that at least three passengers in the taxi lost their lives as a result of the collision. There were equally reports of several individuals sustaining injuries of varying degrees of severity. The injured were immediately transported to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatme nt.
