Documentary Film on Captain Traore Presented to Ambassador Maiga


Ouagadougou: The Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Senegal, Saidou Maiga, received a delegation from the Group for the Integration of African Markets (GIMA) in Dakar. The delegation, led by its president, Ibrahima Loum, presented a documentary film project titled “The Last Drummer,” dedicated to Captain Ibrahim Traore, the Head of State of Burkina Faso.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the project aims to chronicle the journey, struggle, and leadership of Captain Traore, portraying him as a symbol of African renewal and the continent’s regained sovereignty. This cinematic work by GIMA seeks to promote the vision of a united, integrated, and supportive Africa, with the ultimate goal of creating the United States of Africa.



During the meeting, the delegation shared the script for the documentary, highlighting the main artistic and political themes. The discussions were characterized by a constructive environment, also featuring the presentation of a symbolic gift and a personal message to Captain Traore, reflecting esteem and admiration.



Ambassador Saidou Maiga expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as cultural and patriotic. He encouraged the promoters to persist in their efforts to celebrate African leaders who are dedicated to championing the sovereignty, justice, and progress of the continent.
