Piroc, the faithful cook and friend of the late singer Cesária Évora died, at the age of 56, at the Baptista de Sousa Hospital (HBS), in São Vicente, where he was hospitalized.
This information was confirmed, this Thursday, to Inforpress by the granddaughter of Cesária Évora, Janete Évora.
According to the same source, Piroc, whose real name was José Carlos Delgado, was considered “a family member, a friend and loyal companion of Barefoot Diva”.
“He was like a relative because, since I know my name, he has always been with us and with my grandmother [Cesária Évora]. The confidences the two exchanged we’ll never know, he was more than a son to her. Life has made us go our separate ways, but he will remain in my memory,” she said
