The Cabo Verdean Institute for Gender Equality (ICIEG) will award, during the 11th edition of the Cabo Verde Music Awards (CVMA), an artist nominated with the social action trophy, called the “Solidarity Award”.
The information was announced at a press conference this Thursday in the City of Praia, promoted by the organization to talk about the details of the CVMA Gala, followed by an open conversation about VBG, alluding to this year’s Social Responsibility project. The CVMA has this year’s social responsibility the fight against Gender-Based Violence (VBG) and sexual abuse, associated with the “Our voice is VBG” campaign.
The occasion also served to sign an agreement between the Cabo Verdean Institute for Gender Equality (ICEG), UNICEF, UNFPA and CVMA, intended for the launch of the campaign for the inclusion of artists nominated and invited to share attitudes would positively influence society and create a gender awareness.
The president of ICIEG, Marisa Carvalho, praised this partnership, since, as she pointed out, the artists can be the ambassadors of the institution in this fight, “which is raise awareness among Cabo Verdeans.
