COVID-19: Cabo Verde recorded 32 deaths during May

A total of 32 people have already lost their lives because of the COVID-19 in Cabo Verde during May, said the National Director of Health, completing that 20 are male.

Jorge Noel Barreto, who was speaking Monday at the usual press conference to take stock on the COVID-19 situation in the archipelago, also said that about 15.000 people, over 60 years old, have already been vaccinated and 95.5% of health professionals have received at least the first dose of vaccines.

According to the latest updates, Cabo Verde counts 2.581 active cases, 25.432 recovered cases, 251 deaths, eight deaths from other causes and nine transferred, totaling 28.281 positive cases accumulated.

Health authorities continue to reinforce the call for people to comply with social distancing, wear masks and practice hand hygiene and other recommendations to prevent the spread of the disease.
