The Minister of Health, Arlindo do Rosário announced on Monday that the maternity and pediatric unit at the Baptista de Sousa Hospital (HBS) in São Vicente will be funded by China in the amount of 18 million dollars.
The announcement was made by the Minister, in the City of Praia, on the sidelines of the ceremony to deliver hospital equipment donations from Chinese cooperation in Cabo Verde, who said that the first stone will be launch later this year.
“China is going to finance in full and by the end of this year the project will be in a position to start,” said the Minister who said it was a “big project” for the northern region of the country.
According to Arlindo do Rosário, with the completion of the works of the outpatient unit, with the Therapeutic Community Center of Ribeira de Vinha, the architectural project of the new health center of Monte Sucesso and the construction of this new infrastructure, the northern region will have “a true hospital complex”.
