Cape Verde will have its National Cybersecurity Center later this year – official

The Secretary of State for the Digital Economy said this Tuesday that Cabo Verde will have its National Cybersecurity Center implemented this year, as an important value for Cabo Verde, through the partnership of the European Union.

Pedro Lopes expressed this conviction to the press at the close of the International Strategic Seminar “Taiex Intpa”, organized by the European Union, in partnership with the Government, stressing that steps are being taken so that this cybersecurity serves both the country and the entire region.

The official referred to the intention to have all the conditions created in the country so that cybersecurity is one of Cape Verde’s values, having even advanced that this seminar will give rise to a technical meeting this Wednesday for, together with technicians from Estonian to Portugal to put together the strategies for this Center.

He also underlined that within the scope of the Technological Park, it is intended that the companies that establish themselves there have all the conditions, so that 2023 will be the digital year for Cape Verde, in which several achievements are foreseen, as well as cybersecurity in the digital domain.
