Cabo Verde has so far implemented about 85% of the recommendations made to the country by experts in the field of malaria, said this Wednesday, the coordinator of the National Program to Fight Transmitted Diseases Vector (PNLDTV).

“We are following the surveys made and, at the moment, about 85% of the surveys are being implemented. Last year we trained experts in the laboratory area, we worked on standardized manuals, the diagnostic manual, the control and quality manual, and the case management guide”, António Moreira told the press, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of health professionals training in malaria surveillance in the context of elimination.

According to António Moreira, in addition to the documents drawn up and validated, Cape Verde has carried out a series of decentralized training by regions, including for private ones, which, he said, are important in the diagnosis of cases.

He also pointed out training in the field of diagnosis and quality control of malaria at national level, training of health personnel in the northern region, with 28 participants, advancing, on the other hand, that, now, the teams of experts are to do the supervision of the recommendations left.
