Cabo Verde will change laws on crimes of money laundering, terrorism and arms proliferation

The Government will bring to parliament proposals for changes related to measures to prevent and repress the crime of money laundering, the prevention of terrorism and its financing, as well as the proliferation of weapons.

The Minister of Justice Joana Rosa released the information today, at a press conference, for the assessment of the Council of Ministers held on Friday, November 4.

According to the Minister, Cape Verde, as a member of the Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering, has been receiving continuous support from GIABA, as well as from its development partners regarding technical compliance with the best recommendations from the point of view. International.

“For this reason, these two initiatives will have to be approved in the seat of parliament and we will reinforce and comply with the 40 recommendations of the Financial Action Group (GAFI) in relation to the country’s technical non-compliance regarding various matters”, she clarified.
