Cabo Verde highlights the urgency of mobilizing more support to deal with the scarcity of water for agriculture

The Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Gilberto Silva, considered this Thursday, in Praia, that it was urgent to mobilize greater political support and to intensify cooperation between countries to deal with the effects of scarcity of water for agriculture.

Gilberto Silva made these remarks at the closing act of the II WASAG International Forum, which took place under the theme “making agriculture resilient to climate change”, at the Convention Center of the University of Cape Verde (Uni-CV).

“I am convinced that all of us left here are very aware of the urgency of mobilizing greater political support to create better conditions to deal with the effects of water scarcity and climate change, placing agriculture and global food security at the center of discussions”, he stressed the official.
