Ouagadougou: The new Ambassador of Burkina Faso accredited by the President of Faso to the Federative Republic of Brazil, His Excellency Edgard Sie Sou, presented his credentials to the Brazilian President, Luiz In¡cio Lula Da Silva, on Monday, October 20, 2025. With this act of diplomatic tradition, Edgard Sie Sou officially takes office as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Burkina Faso to Brazil.
According to Burkina Information Agency, during the ceremony, the new Ambassador conveyed to President Lula Da Silva and the entire Brazilian people the fraternal greetings of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore. President Da Silva and Ambassador Sie Sou also welcomed the relations of friendship and cooperation between Brazil and Burkina Faso.
The Burkinabe diplomat has committed to working to enhance cooperation, in a spirit of solidarity and mutual respect in accordance with the vision of Captain Ibrahim Traore. Burkina Faso and the Federative Republic of Brazil have maintained cooperative relations for more than 40 years, particularly in the areas of agriculture, health, and livestock farming.
