The member from the association of the locality of Mato, in Brava, Aida Cardoso, who had the responsibility to celebrate the Nha Santana de Mato party, lamented this Monday, the way the Flag was celebrated this year due to the pandemic.
In statements to Inforpress, the group’s spokesperson pointed out that even the participation in the Eucharistic celebration had a different characteristic, because, as explained, it is usual to have the church of the parish of Nossa Senhora do Monte with a good number of faithful from all localities of the island, in addition to the emigrants who participate in this festival.
He said that in Brava, more specifically in the locality of Mato, there is a group organized to celebrate this Flag, but that there is another group in the United States which finances every year.
For this year, in particular, Aida Cardoso said that no activity was carried out whether sports, cultural, other than the fulfil tradition with the “pilon” and on the eve, but with a limited number of people, as a way to maintain the tradition.
