Nana Kwasi Sompreh II, Divisional Chief of Bogoso Kokoase Divisional Area, has called for the regular maintenance of the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) equipment to keep them running smoothly. That, he said, would keep the equipment in good working condition, prolong its lifespan and help achieve goals of establishing the DRIP, launched by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Nana Sompreh II gave the advice at Bogoso when the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly received tipper tracks, concrete mixers, backhoe, water tanker, grader, and roller for the DRIP. He commended the President for this laudable initiative and appealed to the assembly to ensure they work on roads in Bogoso, Prestea, Huni-Valley, Oppong Valley, Tarkwa Bremang and Pertepom. Dr Isaac Dasmani, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Prestea Huni-Valley provided an overview of government's efforts to improve road infrastructure within the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality, stressed that they have over 366 communities. He said with the acquisition of specialized equipment they would be able to address the challenges facing the assembly in terms of its road network. Dr Dasmani thanked the government and said introduction of the DRIP would not only benefit farmers, but it would help reduce food prices in most communities. He pledged to ensure that the equipment would be used exclusively for road construction and called on the media and other stakeholders to monitor its use. Mrs Barbara Oteng-Gyasi, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Prestea Huni-Valley Constituency, highlighted the importance of good governance and urged citizens to support leaders who prioritised effective governance.
