Bazega: The provincial director in charge of basic education in Bazega, Claude Ouedraogo, undertook a supervision tour on September 15, 2025, the day of the administrative start of the school year in some schools in the province. The objective is to encourage and provide advice to teachers for a successful 2025-2026 school year.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in the province of Bazega in the Nazinon region, the provincial director of preschool, primary and non-formal education (DPEPPNF), Claude Ouedraogo, began a supervision tour of certain schools. The objective, as stated by the provincial director, is to ensure the effective presence of teachers at their workstations, to encourage them and, above all, to discuss the new reforms of the education system carried out by the Ministry of Basic Education, Literacy and the Promotion of National Languages (MEBAPLN) for a successful school year.

For this first day of the tour, the DPEPPNF visited the schools of Tanghin, Sapone market “A” in the commune of Sapone, Ipelce center “A”, Sandeba in the commune of Ipelce, and Doulougou center “A” in the commune of Doulougou. At all these stages, Mr. Ouedraogo congratulated the teachers for their presence on this first day of the administrative return.

In his discussions with the school staff, the provincial director congratulated all the stakeholders for the results achieved last school year. While inviting each stakeholder to redouble their efforts to achieve the 95% rate set in the region, Claude Ouedraogo gave advice to his colleagues. “Before calmly starting the very pedagogical return to school, take advantage of this period of the administrative return to prepare all administrative matters by establishing a well-defined schedule of activities,” he addressed the teachers.

He also discussed the new reforms undertaken by the MEBAPLN for quality education. These reforms include the establishment of the School Council, the introduction of national languages in teaching, English from CE1, introduction to trades, ICT (information and communication technologies), the endogenous canteen, among others. These reforms aim to adapt teaching to the political, socio-economic realities of Burkina Faso.

For a successful implementation of these reforms, Claude Ouedraogo invited teachers to be VDP (volunteers for the defense of the homeland) of education and to engage in a spirit of popular progressive revolution for quality education for the benefit of children. Mr. Ouedraogo was assisted in places by the heads of the basic education districts of the schools visited.

This supervision tour provided clarifications following the difficulties and expectations of the teachers, who expressed their satisfaction with the visit of their superior and the advice received. According to the DPEPPNF of Bazega, the supervision tour will continue in schools in other municipalities of the province, including Gaongo, Toece, Kombissiri, and Kayao. The start of the school year in Burkina Faso is scheduled for October 1, 2025.
