BUI, Cameroon (CNA) - Ambazonia fighters launched an attack on the Manchock neighborhood in Olu, Bui division, resulting in the death of a student and injuries to others, local authorities reported. According to the Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) of Bui, the deceased has been identified as Jiseh Betrand Chung, a student at Government High School, Elak-Oku. Another victim, identified as Mbigha Ernest, 40, sustained head injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. Additionally, Bruno Ngvume was kidnapped during the attack, heightening concerns over security in the subdivision. The SDO assured GCE candidates in Oku that security measures were being strengthened to ensure a safe environment for the upcoming national exams. The attacks underscore the challenges faced by civilians in the Bui division amidst ongoing conflict, highlighting the need for sustained efforts to address security concerns and promote stability during this end of year Examinations.
