Roger Noah Minala's death has created a big void in Cameroon football. His impact over the past three decades since the creation of AS Fortuna in 1998 has been immense. The founder and president of the Yaounde-based club died on Tuesday, September 3, at the age of 56, following an illness family sources revealed. The football promoter is considered an emblematic figure who played a key role in the exposure of several talents including Leonel Ateba and Napoli midfielder Frank Zambo Anguissa. Zambo said he offered youths the opportunity to excel, pointing out that the football promoter played a significant role in his career. Through AS Fortuna, Roger Minala made devoted efforts for the development of local football in Cameroon. Under his leadership, AS Fortuna gained Elite One promotion in 2018, and finished third in the 2020-2021 season. The club reached the quarter-finals of the 2022 Cameroon Cup.
