ARME and Correios de Cabo Verde participate in the 27th Universal Postal Union Congress

The presidents of the boards of directors of ARME and the Post Office of Cabo Verde, Isaías Barreto and Isidoro Ramos, respectively, participated in the 27th Universal Postal Union Congress, in Côte d’Ivoire, between the 23rd and 27th.

According to a statement from the Multisectoral Economic Regulatory Agency (ARME), the Delegation of Cabo Verde is headed by Isaías Barreto da Rosa, who will analyze together with the participants proposed to change the rules governing the Universal Postal Union (UPU), including its constitution, the general regulation, the convention and the Postal Payment Services Agreement.

The 27th congress was also included in the agenda the remuneration plan, the data sharing framework agreement between the designated operators and the Postal Strategy for the period 2021-2024.

At this congress, the new bodies of the Union were also elected to the General Secretariat, the Board of Directors and the Postal Exploration Council.

The Universal Postal Union is one of the oldest international organisations currently in existence, having been established in 1874, bringing together 192 Member States.
