Angola is in pot 4 of the draw for the final phase of the African Cup of Nations in football (CAN’2023), in Côte d’Ivoire.

The 24 teams qualified for the competition, transferred to January next year, were divided into pots, according to their position in the FIFA Ranking, updated this Thursday, in which Angola occupies 117th place with 1169 points.

In addition to Angola, the Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Namibia and Tanzania are part of pot 4.

Cabo Verde, another Portuguese-speaking team that qualified, is in pot 3, and could face its counterparts from Angola, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique.

The draw for the CAN 2023 group stage will be held on October 12, 2023, in Abidjan, the Ivorian capital.

Here are the Pots:

Pot 1: Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt

Pot 2: Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana and Democratic Republic of Congo

Pot 3: South Africa, Cape Verde, Guinea-Conakry, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea and Mauritania

Pot 4: Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Namibia, Gambia and Tanzania.
