Air Transport: Cabo Verde and Angola want to review agreements to strengthen cooperation

Cabo Verde and Angola intend to strengthen cooperation in the air transport sector, with several agreements and memoranda of understanding signed in 2018, which may be amended or revised.

The intention was expressed on Monday in Assomada by the Minister of Transport, Carlos Santos, after a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Santa Catarina, Jassira Monteiro, as part of the three-day visit to Cabo Verde of his Angolan counterpart, Ricardo Viegas D’Abreu, who also included the former Concentration Camp of Tarrafal.

As he explained, the Angolan counterpart’s visit to Cabo Verde at his invitation aims to strengthen relations and intensify relations between the two ministries, companies and institutions under their responsibility in the air and sea transport sectors.

“We intend to review what are the cooperation instruments signed in the past, namely between the two regulatory authorities (AAC and ANAC), the air companies TACV and TAAG, and then seek since we are at a stage of the end of the pandemic other avenues of cooperation and other models, taking into account the situation we have been through”, said the Minister.
