Administrative School Year Launch in Fada N’Gourma Emphasizes Resilience and Excellence

Fada n’gourma: The Basic Education District (CEB) of Fada N’Gourma 1 officially launched the administrative school year on Monday, September 15, 2025, with a ceremony marked by the raising of national colors and the singing of the ditanye in Gourmantchema. This year, the beginning of the school year is dedicated to resilience and excellence.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Head of the CEB, Ahadi Idani, stated that the theme reflects the commitment of education stakeholders to national and homeland values. The ceremony was held in a school accommodating several internally displaced students and offering remedial classes. Mr. Idani emphasized that resilience is key, affirming it as “our hobbyhorse.”

The official extended congratulations to educational supervisors, school principals, teachers, administrative staff, students, and parents for achieving a remarkable success rate increase from 86% in 2024 to 93.54% in the primary education certificate (CEP) in 2025. Challenges for the 2025-2026 school year include accommodating more internally displaced students, enhancing education quality, decongesting schools for better management, and implementing reforms from the ministry of basic education.

Mr. Idani expressed a vision of building an inclusive, disciplined, and supportive school environment for excellence. Meanwhile, Karim Beogo, director of the public primary school in sector 1 Kalmanma, acknowledged the CEB’s support over the past year. He reiterated the directors’ dedication to enhancing teaching quality, improving school governance, maintaining clean establishments, and swiftly establishing school councils to replace previous structures.

Mr. Beogo reported the staffing details for the new school year as 55 teachers, comprising 10 men and 45 women, with three on maternity leave. The schools are currently hosting 2,126 students, including 1,601 internally displaced persons, and anticipate enrolling at least 400 new students this year. Education stakeholders in Fada 1 aim to tackle these challenges with solidarity and rigor, aspiring for a peaceful and productive school year.
