The solemn Mass and a serenade at the door of the church are some of the activities scheduled for the celebration of the Nossa Senhora da Luz Day, which is marked this Wednesday, the 8, in São Vicente.
According to information provided to Inforpress by the parish priest, Father Lino Paulino, the 8th of September is always a “great moment of celebration” for parishioners who can thus “renew the faith, hope and conviction of life in God”.
Thus, the celebrations in honor of the patron saint of the Nosa Senhora da Luz parish, in the city of Mindelo, began since this Sunday with a procession of cars with the image of the saint by various localities of the island, which, since last year, due to the pandemic, has replaced the usual procession.
The activities continue, according to the same source, on Tuesday, the 7th, with the usual serenade, which began at the initiative by Mindelo’s artists and who usually roamed the streets of the city accompanied by several people.
