The Demonstration Field and Support for Agricultural Training, implemented under the “Semear, colher e vender” (Sowing, harvesting and selling) project, inaugurated Thursday in Ribeirão Areia, Santa Catarina, will foster a new class of farmers and boost the agrarian sector.
The statement was made by the president of the Industrial Agricultural and Services Trade Association of Santiago (Acaisa), Felisberto Veiga, who spoke today during his speech at the inauguration of the project, which was chaired by the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Gilberto Silva.
The transnational cooperation project “Semear, colher e vender” (Sowing, harvesting and selling) was financed by PRORURAL+, in 213.000 euros, and part of this amount is paid by the Regional Government of the Azores.
“Semear, colher e vender” (Sowing, harvesting and selling) is an innovation project in the organization of agricultural production, which has gained a body in this model of agricultural park to foster a new class of farmers on the one hand, as well as experiments, building capacity, training and demonstrations of best practices that is already done in the agriculture field in the archipelagos of the Azores and Cabo Verde”, he explained.
