The President of the Cabo Verde Bar Association (OACV), Hernani Soares, highlighted Wednesday the importance of lawyers in the structures of justice and challenged them to follow the new trends for a “stronger” law firm.
The OACV President launched this challenge during its intervention at the closing ceremony of the conference on “Right to Diversity as a Factor of Inclusion”, organized by the Committee on Diversity and Inclusion of the Portuguese-Speaking Lawyers Federation (FALP), in partnership with OACV, as part of the program to commemorate the Lawyers’ Day in Cabo Verde celebrated on May 19.
Hernani Soares stressed the importance of the date, which he considers to be a day that serves as a reflection not only for lawyers, but also for Cabo Verdean society, stressing that without lawyers society “will not have its freedom that it values so much”.
He recalled that last December, the OACV completed 20 years of existence, noting that these 20 years of growth demonstrate an age at which the professional organization itself has already reached a certain maturity, but also greater responsibilities and demands for both the institution itself and its members.
