New Commissioner General points to an increase in the number of staff as the main challenge of the AECV

The new Commissioner General of the Scouts Association of Cabo Verde (AECV) points out as the main challenge the increase in the number of staff, which “reduced considerably” with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking to Inforpress, on the sidelines of the swearing-in ceremony of the new managementteam, Leonilde Lima explained with the pandemic there has been a reduction in scouts, since all their activities are organized outdoors.

“The pandemic has affected all organizations and we have stopped organizing outdoor activities, which has led to a reduction in the number of participants, although we have carried out some online activities,” she said.

According to the person responsible, the pandemic also brought the opportunity to create other alternatives to boost the association, with the virtual scouting meeting, adding, on the other hand, it served to reflect on the real challenges of the organization.
