The advisory judges of the Supreme Court of Justice (STJ), Simão Santos and Zaida da Luz, invested this Wednesday by the President of the Republic, who asked for responsibility and serenity regarding the judicial system, in the light of the state of democratic law.
Already invested, Simão Santos considered that this investiture was a symbolic moment in their lives, noting that justice can wait for what they have always done”, that is, “seek to do justice to citizens, now with greater improvement”.
As for the problem of slowness, much criticized by the population, he stated that it is a problem that crosses the typical countries of the Cape Verdean system, admitting, however, that it can be mitigated, but that they will seek to speed it up, “as always”, at the similarity of the counties and in the relationships through which they passed.
Regarding the State of Cape Verdean justice, Simão Santos said that currently “Cape Verdean justice is better than ever”, and that today it is faced with a society that is more demanding and more aware of its rights and more demanding”.
