The Municipal Assembly of Ribeira Grande approved this Monday the City Hall´s activity plan for 2023, with favorable votes from the Movement for Democracy (MpD, situation), votes against the PAICV and the abstention of the ARG.
The document, which passed the vote with 11 votes in favor (from the MpD), three votes against from the PAICV and three abstentions from the independent group ARG, predicted, not only traditional actions. In addition, “the extension of municipal intervention to areas of activity that, being the direct responsibility of the Democratic Local Power, correspond to the emerging needs” of many people from Ribeira Grande.
The municipal budget for 2023 will be discussed and voted on Tuesday, 15, for an overall amount of more than 542 million escudos, with an increase of 12.38 % over the previous budget.
The budget foresees a budget deficit, for the 2023 financial year, in the approximate amount of four thousand escudos, determined by the difference between the expected revenues and expenses, excluding loans obtained.
