The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, argued that Cabo Verde and Brazil may assume pivotal roles in their respective continents to strengthen the tripartite relationship between Africa, Europe and Latin America.
José Maria Neves made these statements on Monday, during a reception at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil (Itamaraty), by his Brazilian counterpart, Jair Bolsonaro, at a meeting part of the bicentenary celebrations of the independence of that Lusophone country.
In addition to the reception to the Heads of State and special representatives of the invited countries, Bolsonaro received private meetings of the Heads of State present, and this was an opportunity for the Cabo Verdean and Brazilian presidents to address prospects for strengthening bilateral relations between the two States.
In his passage through Itamaraty, José Maria Neves was also able, according to a presidency note released today, to visit an exhibition of photos about the Bicentenary of Brazil’s Independence.
