The National Statistics Institute (INE) promotes this Thursday, in Praia, a workshop on cybersecurity and its Implication in the Production of Statistics, aimed at technicians, aiming to tackle cyber-attacks that the institution has been suffering.
Speaking to the press, the President of INE, João Cardoso, said that the institution has been investing heavily in collecting and making data available using new technologies of information, which implies the construction of innovative technological infrastructures, as well as the human resources training.
This, argued that officials respond to the new challenges that are imposed, one of these being the intensification of the administrative sources utilization in statistical production.
“There are widely publicized violations of supposedly secure systems, even those maintained by elite organizations, creating fear in the population that their personal information could be exposed,” João Cardoso mentioned.
