ICIEG ‘Short Stories Gender Equality’ Contest receives praise and will be replicated at CPLP

The ‘Short Stories Gender Equality’ Contest, conceived by ICIEG and partners, has received praise from CPLP ministers who protect gender equality, indicating the initiative as an example to be replicated in the member States.

This information was provided by the president of the Cabo Verdean Institute for Gender Equality and Equity (ICIEG), Rosana Almeida, in a statement to the press, on the sidelines of the award to the winners of the 3rd edition of the ‘Short Stories Gender Equality’ Contest, held today at the Luciano Garcia High School, in São Lourenço dos Órgãos.

According to her, at the last gender ministerial meeting held in Cabo Verde, all ministers of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP) understood that the archipelago “is giving a good signal” to cross-cutting gender equality in schools.

“This is an initiative that will be replicated in all CPLP member States. We are proud of this process and this trajectory to seeing that more and more young people are engaged for a culture of tolerance, peace and equality,” she said.
