The Minister of Justice acknowledged that minors in conflict with the law deserve “special attention”, noting that the Government will focus on their social reintegration through education.
Joana Rosa was speaking to the press at the inauguration of the rehabilitation works for the visiting, leisure, training and dining rooms at the Orlando Pantera Socio-Educational Centre, financed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The minister highlighted the importance of rehabilitating the aforementioned Centre, which accommodates 28 minors from various islands in the archipelago, who now have “better conditions”, namely for “dignified” food, spaces for reading and entertainment.
“It is true that we still need more, but we have been working to create security conditions because the world of crime has become more sophisticated, also for the minors who are sent to the center”, she said.
