The president of the National Institute of Statistics (INE), Osvaldo Borges, said Monday the process for the General Population Census 2020 “is almost complete”, and after the extension of the deadline, there was more approval by the population.
This responsible provided this information in statements to the press, on the sidelines of the working meeting with the National Statistical and Demographic Agency of Senegal (ANSD) team which is in Cabo Verde, from today to 31 this month, with a view to knowing the statistical procedures carried out by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
According to Osvaldo Borges, the process is almost complete and at this time are being made small checks in the cabinet and some actions on the ground, stressing that the INE prospect present the provisional data within the deadline has been established.
“After the extension of the deadline, there was more agreement of Cabo Verdeans and at the moment we have to thank the collaboration of all the partners we had in this process. We had said that after the 7th we would have a month to present the results and it is within this framework we are preparing to collect this data”, he said. The 5th General Census of Population and Housing (RGPH 2021 or Census 2021) started on June 15 with the collection of data from the homeless, in the city of Praia.
