Deputy Prime Minister Olavo Correia reiterated Wednesday that people are “the biggest assets” of Cabo Verde, because all the investment made in this area has return and profitability.
“There is no development without innovation and creativity,” he said, adding that for this reason universities have a “fundamental role in Cabo Verde’s development process.”
According to Olavo Correia, it is not possible to make Cabo Verde a developed country if there are no “qualified human resources” for the various economic sectors and this is, according to his words, the “quality of higher education”.
The Deputy Prime Minister, who is also Minister of Finance, made these considerations at the close of the first Specialization Course in Local Development and Agenda 2030, promoted by the School of Business and Governance of the public university, Uni-cv, which had the UNDP and Luxembourg Cooperation support. The ruler highlighted the efforts of the now-graduate, who attended the course in the post-work period, in a COVID-19 pandemic context and in an entirely virtual format.
