CV Interilhas justifies constraints in the services provided by high debt dating back to the beginning of the concession

ETE Group, a shareholder of CV Interilhas, justified the constraints on public passenger and cargo services, with non-compliance with financial obligations, since the beginning of the concession, by the State.

In a press release sent to Inforpress, the ETE Group, following the various constraints recorded in recent days in the inter-island maritime passenger and cargo transport service, clarified that under the concession, rights and obligations are enshrined for both parties, which must be fully fulfilled.

“It should be clarified that the grantor is in breach of its financial obligations since the beginning of the concession in 2019, to the point that currently the high debt accumulated to CV Interilhas already amounts to 9.5 million euros”, he denounced.

In this regard, it considered that it will only be possible to offer a regular, reliable and safe inter-island maritime passenger and cargo transport service to the Cabo Verdean population if they are all available to cooperate and fulfil their obligations in a fair and competent manner.
