Cape Verdean drivers hired by the road transport company on the Setúbal Peninsula, Alsa Todi, guarantee that the decision to come to Portugal was “difficult”, but, so far, “the right one”.
The guarantee was given exclusively to Inforpresss by a group of four Cape Verdean drivers, representing their colleagues, in a visit that the Cape Verdean agency made to the company’s facilities, in Setúbal, to learn about its operation and the conditions of work of professionals in Cape Verde.
Rui Lopes, Jonathan Gomes, Kelvin Fortes and Pedro Cruz are part of the group of 61 Cape Verdean drivers who worked for a public transport company and as taxi drivers, who arrived in the last week of October, coming from the island of São Vicente, to reinforce the staff in the road transport company in Portugal.
“It was not an easy decision, because we left the job we had in Cape Verde and came to take risks, but it has been a good experience”, said Jonathan Gomes, adding that they will give “the maximum” and “do everything to help the company”, expecting the same from Alsa Todi.
