Cabo Verde already has a new civil society organization, the Cabo Verdean Network of Human Rights Defenders (RECADDH), designed to ensure the defense and protection of the rights of human rights defenders and fundamental freedoms.
Presented this Thursday, in the City of Praia, the RECADDH, according to its chairman of the Technical Council, Felisberto Moreira, governs in accordance with Resolution 53/144 of the United Nations General Assembly, on the rights and responsibilities of individuals, groups and civil society representatives.
Officialized in the BO II Series, No. 132, of 10 August 2022, this civil society organization, according to its leader, is made up of a group of Cabo Verdean citizens, social human rights activists, as members and representatives of civil society organizations, and regional partners such as “Defender-Defender”.
The network, Moreira said, is “very attentive” to the reality of the country, but also to what happens in this African region and in the world, and was born “following observations of the internal and external reality”.
